1983 - Kilimanjaro

From the Paisley Daily Express, Sept 29, 1983:

More than 1500 tickets had been sold in a competition to guess how long it would take him to get to the top.

In the end it was three days, nine hours, 25 minutes and 25 seconds.

The competition to guess how long it would take Ian to get to the top was won by Mrs J King of Allenfauld Road, Cumbernauld, who was only five minutes out.

She wins a weekend for two in London.
