Each year, as well as the Geog-Ex expeditions, Port Glasgow High School would organise school ski trips. Many of these were recorded by Ian on cine film, carefully and professionally edited, and provide a fascinating record of these events.

Similarly, the annual Scout summer camps were also filmed, and over the years. Viewed in sequence these films document changes in and development of equipment, styles of clothing, hair etc, as well behaviour, attitudes and the confidence of the participants.
